Best compression garment after calf liposuction? (photo)

A support hose is usually worn for calf and ankles liposuctions postop and 30-40 mm Hg is recommended but 20-30 mm hg can do also.

I would recommend that you discuss this question with your surgeon as every surgeon has their own respective post op protocol for his/her patients.  Your surgeon is your best resource as he/she is most familiar with your medical history and how you are healing at this time.

Generally speaking, don't get caught up with numbers and mm/Hg.  Regarding calf liposuction, the garment should reach past the calves to the upper ankles and should be very snug, but not so tight that they are constrictive and unbearable uncomfortable. Most garment companies provide a fairly comprehensive sizing chart to help you or your surgeon select the best fitting garment for you. Good luck!

You should first ask your Plastic Surgeon.  Generally, a garment that goes over the knee and down to the foot with 20-25mm Hg compression is what we use.  You can find them in any surgical supply store (Jobst type etc).Best of luck with your surgery.Dr. T

I believe that the best pressure garment delivers 20 -40 mm pressure, and the ones I use come from Medical-Z corpora ton in Houston.  hey are made of CoolMAx lycra, instead of elastex.  Thus they are more comfortable and sweat passes through them to keep you dry.
