Chin implant for a singer?

 Chin implants are placed through a submental approach  directly over the bone of the mandible and will not affect singing ability or the voice. The chin implant procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia as an outpatient surgical procedure which takes approximately 30 minutes.  Hi, I have performed many chin augmentations using a chin implant for 30 years.  Placing a silastic chin implant through a small incision under the chin is safe, quick and highly effective at adding chin projection that will balance the lower face.  If done under local, you can avoid the general anesthesia and any risk that a tube or LMA might add to your vocal cords and singing career.  The chin implant placement can temporarily restrict lower lip movement but this typically returns to normal in 1 - 2 months and is very rarely an issue.  If you want the safest method of chin augmentation, I would use a dermal filler (Restylane Lyft) as an office treatment.
