It is difficult to tell from this picture I would recommend you consult with your PS for a proper exam and evaluation.
Thank you very much for your question. Two weeks after surgery is normally the time that Sutures are being taken out around the navel. I would advise for you to go to your plastic surgeon to have a look at it. It is hard to say from the picture if there is actually an infection. You might experience some other symptoms like secretion from the wound, fever, redness or pain. If that is the case you need to go immediately. Have a wonderful rest of the day greetings from the beautiful island of Jamaica.
Thanks for the question and photo.A physical exam would be paramount in giving you an accurate answer, but form your photo it does not appear that you are infected. The sutures should be removed by your surgeon very soon and they will be able to better answer your question.Best of luck with your recovery.Dr T
First of all, congratulations on your tummy tuck, Igartua! It’s hard to answer your question based only on the photo you posted, but if you have an infection, you’ll probably experience other symptoms like pain, redness, and even fever.I suggest that you go back to your reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon for a follow-up checkup so that he can properly evaluate your condition.Good luck!
This photo alone doesn't show what looks like an infection. I would recommend being seen in person by your surgeon if you have concerns - your follow up is part of what you paid for!!Hope this helps!dr. silver
Hi there,It doesnt obviously look infected, but if you are concerned you should go back and see your surgeon.\Best wishesRichard
Hello and thank you for your question. It is difficult to tell from the picture if it is an infection or not. Skin that looks yellowish in color is often times dead tissue, or slough. This type of tissue impedes healing. If you notice redness, swelling, pus, continual or increased pain, a hot incision site, or feelings of malaise, you most likely have an infection. Please follow up with your doctor, whether it is slough, an infection, or another problem. Best wishes.
Post-procedure blood thinners like Lovenox can theoretically ward off a DVT and subsequent PE in the context of an abdominoplasty. Much of the actual data behind the use of "chemoprophylaxis" is derived from hospital patients, so its hard to make absolute recommendations. Instead, it sho...
Dear Amanda, Many thanks for your question regarding steroid injection to seromas. It is a practice that is not uncommon amongst many surgeons to try to deal with persistent seroma(s), however there is little evidence to support it working. I would advise you seek the opinion and advice of...
Unless there is a reason not to (you would need to ask YOUR surgeon), I always encourage all my patients to switch to a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory as soon after their procedure as possible. They work surprisingly well and post-operative bleeding has been a NON-ISSUE in all of them.
