Can you apply lotion/oil/Vaseline to an incision which has healed but still has some dissolvable sutures? (Photo)

Thank you for your question.  You seem to be healing well following your breast augmentation just two weeks ago, but I would still encourage you to discuss the use of topical ointments with your operating plastic surgeon directly.  Each board certified plastic surgeon has his/her own specific protocols for both before and after surgery that have been developed based on their experience and training.  As such, there is no universal rule when it comes to topical ointments/preparations in the post-operative period.  In most cases I will allow my patients to apply lotion for dryness at this point and will recommend a topical scar cream but it is best to follow your surgeons recommendations.  I hope that you find this helps and congratulations on your breast augmentation!

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  Though always wise to run any changes in your recovery by your surgeon, you should be fine to start ointment or lotion application to your incisions.  Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question. Every surgeon has their own protocol for scar management. I allow my patients to begin scar massage at 2 weeks postop with a non-irritating cream. Your incisions appear to be healed so it should not be a problem to apply lotion to your breasts. I always recommend speaking with your surgeon in regards to any questions you may have.

If it feels too dry you can apply an antibiotic ointment once a day.  That should lubricate it and help with the discomfort Best wishes
