I'm very slim - 5ft7, 32b (bust 31 inches and 25 inch waist). I know 270cc implants are on the smaller size, but will they look big on me? I don't want huge boobs but I would like to see a difference.
Answer: Implant Selection Thank you for your question. It is very difficult to accurately discuss implant volume without an exam and detailed measurements. In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements and characteristics. I use these measurements to help me during your sizing process to guide you to a safe result and one that meets your end desires.Your plastic surgeon will perform several measurements of your chest wall and breast anatomy and determine a range of implants that both fit your chest wall and reach your desired goals. The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor. The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant. It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you during the sizing process. Close intereaction and involvement from your surgeon during this process can help alleviate the anxiety and fears of choosing the right size. I wish you a safe recovery and fantastic result.Dr. Gill

Answer: Are 270cc implants too large on me? Hi Megan,The answer depends on an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you. Measurements such as the width of the base of either breast, the thickness of the tissues of your breast and pectoral muscles, the elasticity of the skin and tissues all contribute to the implant size and shape selection. Whether the 270cc implant you describe is a lower or higher profile device also adds to whether it will fit with your body habitus. Generally speaking, this volume implant should fit you well, but a slightly larger or smaller implant may be even more to your liking--this is what you pay your surgeon for: to help you decide in person! Hope this helps,--Erik Hoy, M.D.
