Does raising the nasal tip aid or worsen the airway? I have found over the years that elevation of the nasal tip actually improves the nasal airway. Most people can test this on themselves by taking a breath through the nose in its normal resting position and taking another breath through the nose while holding the tip up. Most people find that it is easier to breathe through nose while holding the tip up.

Treatment is directed toward the offending anatomic structure(s).If there is no prior obstruction, shortening the nose should not affect the nasal airway. Raising the tip may be of functional significance if there is nasal valve collapse.
