I had a rhinoplasty done almost 10 years ago and loved my result. Now it seems the cartilage on the tip of my nose is shifting. The tip of my nose now slightly deviates to the left and there looks to be a small bump. Do I need a revision rhinoplasty? is there a procedure to just correct the nasal tip?
Answer: Revision rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a revision rhinoplasty. Maneuvers for your surgery could include nasal tip deprojection and mastoid fascia tip graft to provide a smoother contour in your tip. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty... If the asymmetry bothers you, a revision can be done to just address the tip. The skin will be lifted up and the tip refined and made more symmetrical. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.

Answer: Nasal Tip Plasty? Thanks sm816 for your question! Even years after having a rhinoplasty, slight nose alterations are not unusual. Cartilage memory is one of the possible causes of this. Due to cartilage's propensity to revert to its natural form, minor alterations may occur over time. Moreover, the nose continues to age along with the rest of your face. This can lead to changes in the soft tissues and cartilage and finally scar tissue can contract over time, which can also affect shape of the nose. T One or more of these causes may be the cause of the shifting cartilage and bump you're observing in your circumstance. Whether you need a revision rhinoplasty depends on the severity of the changes and how bothered you are by them. You might not require any more surgery if the bulge and deviation are little and don't cause you any substantial discomfort, but revision rhinoplasty might be a possibility if you're dissatisfied with the modifications and would like to get back to your previous appearance. If the problem is isolated to the tip of your nose, a minor revision procedure may be all that's needed. This can often be done in the office under local anesthesia. This called nasal tip Plasty. A full revision rhinoplasty can be required if the alterations are more noticeable or affect other areas of your nose. Speaking with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty is the best method to find out if you require a revision rhinoplasty and what kind of treatment is ideal for you. They will be able to assess your specific situation and recommend the best course of treatment. Hope this was helpful! Best wishes, Dr Ali Sajjadian

Answer: Consider a permanent nonsurgical nose job. Based on your singular photo, you appear to have relatively thin nasal skin, and an asymmetrical nasal tip appearance. Depending on your examination, microdroplets Silikon 1000 nasal injections may be considered for adding volume to your nasal tip to camouflage the edges of cartilage that have become visible over the years through your thin nasal skin. This may be a safer, and more predictable remedy for what's bothering you. Compared to surgery. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

Answer: Nose "need" is always the operative word. no one needs anything. however, if this is something that bothers you enough, you could always go and see some consults about a revision rhino. Personally, I don't think that this is severe enough to warrant a revision rhino (which involves correcting the tip too, so they are the same things) . revision rhinos come with all kinds of risks/potential complications, and they are a serious undertaking.
