2 years post rhinoseptoplasty - Lumpiness and white discoloration - how can I fix this?
So I had my rhinoseptoplasty in August 2024. It’s been almost 2 years now, and I’m still having quite a few issues with it. The most consistent one is this throbbing pain that comes and goes. I’ll admit my breathing is much better, but I still can’t fully breathe because of the “swelling.” The throbbing happens at all times of the day and comes and goes. I went to see my surgeon multiple times about it, and he said everything looks okay internally. He gave me 2 steroid shots, and those helped a bit but didn’t fix the issue. (I also want to preface that the discoloration was there before the steroid shots.) Additionally, he gave me gabapentin, which slightly helped but again didn’t fix the issue. I had a septoplasty + turbinate reduction + spreader graft + closed rhinoplasty. I loved my nose before, my only issue was that it was slightly crooked, which is why the spreader graft was put in place. But now my nose looks bulky and lacks shape. I’m just having issues with how it looks and the persistent swelling/throbbing I’m still having. Unfortunately, I’ve been to my surgeon’s office many times, and he dismisses my concerns a bit and keeps telling me I look great. I’ve attached some before and after photos of my nose below so you’ll be able to see the swelling/bulkiness. The right side is before, and the left is after.
