Breast revision, replaced breast implants from 30 years ago. The surgeon used 320 cc saline implants under the muscle ~moderate profile .He only did a lift on one breast.he was supposed to do both and didn't. I am tall, slim but shapely. I feel I needed fuller breasts to be properly proportionate to my hips. Moderate profile or the cc size he chose makes my breast look awful
Answer: Implant type Dear Doramom1, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Breasts You did not post photos, so I cannot be specific. the profile chosen is based on your measurements and the size selected. Low profile implants usually look flatter in most women. Please discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

Answer: Breast implant revision Implant selection is often based upon patient's breast base width, old implant size and patient desires. Breast implants are placed subglandular (in front of the muscle) or behind the muscle. Behind the muscle at times requires a larger volume or more projecting implant to achieve one's desired results than subglandular. Breast lifts help reposition natural breast tissue and may at times make the breast appear smaller.

Answer: Bellesoma Method Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs. It may be that you had an inadequate lift and would benefit more from a breast lift then implants. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: What happens when you exchange implants after 30 years? To make an assessment, we need to see quality before and after pictures. There are a host of variables to take into consideration. It would not be uncommon for 30-year-old implants to be ruptured silicone implants? Perhaps not. It would have a major impact on what the outcome would look like. If that’s the case, it would be highly likely that a patient would have capsular contractions. If any capsule work was done during surgery, then the shape of your breast is going to look quite different Especially early after the procedure. High profile implants have a smaller diameter with more projection. Low profile implants are the opposite. Think of a higher profile implant as looking like a tennis ball and a low profile implant like a pancake. With limited information we can’t really give you a quality assessment.Talk to your provider about your concerns. If you need a second opinion consultation, then scheduled those in person consultation with other providers in your community. For second opinion consultations come prepared bringing with you a complete set of before and after pictures and a copy of your operative report. These are all available from your current providers office if you request them.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
