Age 47 have really thin skin had revision from 350cc silicone HP to 500cc moderate high profile under the muscle with durasorb mesh Since day one skin in cleavage has been tight and tented , has loosened up a bit but still looks webbed esp when I pull my arms back , when I’m upright they just look like close cleavage , will this resolve with time as my implants shift outward? I’ve had 6 augmentations and really don’t want to deal with another one this was supposed to be the last one

Answer: Problems with breast augmentations In a nutshell, anytime patients opted for using excessively large implants the chance of having undesirable side effects, complications and need for revision surgery will go up. Going from 350 500 probably most likely contributed to a problematic outcome. Haven’t had six previous procedures your situation is now highly complex, and the chance of having a high-quality long-term outcome is much lower. I don’t think it’s possible to even begin to make an assessment based on your history. I suggest you rely exclusively on in person second opinion consultations. For second opinion, consultations come prepared. This means having copies of all before, and after pictures for each of your previous procedures and copies of all of your operative reports. If you’ve had six operations, then we need to see six sets of before and after pictures and have access to six operative reports. If you’ve had more than one provider, then start requesting medical records from each of your previous surgeons. I apologize if my response is blunt and lacks in optimism. If someone told me that had five previous breast surgeries and we’re going to switch from 350 to 500 cc implants, I would say you’re going to have problems. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
