i am rather healthy have high blood pressure controlled by medication. I also have hypothyroidism. My last plastic surgery was 2007 liposuction.
Answer: BBL done safely Good Morning E.haddock Thank you for your question. The answer to your question would be determined on your pre-op testing to be sure that you are healthy enough for the fat transfer to the buttocks region. This procedure of a BBl using fat transfer or, fat grafting, is usually done in combination with full body liposuction or some liposuction. Your blood work as well as a full ECG must show that you are healthy enough to undergo such a procedure. Also, if you have already had liposuction, and have maintained your weight since the procedure back in 2007, there may no longer be sufficient fat stores or, "good quality fat" to harvest during liposuction for the fat transfer to the glutes. This also would depend on how much volume you were looking to add. If there isn't enough fat stores then, perhaps you would need to have gluteal implants instead to achieve your desired final results. I hope this helps and wish you the best!

Answer: BBL Candidate Thank you for your question. There is not a specific age, but first, for safety reasons, to be a good candidate for the procedures you want at the same time, your labs and cardiovascular preoperative evaluation must be optimal. Kind Regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: I am 56 years old and would like to know if I can I get a BBL safely? Your age by itself will not prevent you from having a BBL safely or achieving lasting results. Your general health, genetics, exercise habits, dietary habits, weight, and candidacy for the procedure must be considered. Most plastic surgeons prefer that the BMI be near 30 and a stable weight maintained for several months prior to the surgery to lower the risks of complications during and after surgery and to provide maximum results.

Answer: BBL candidate Dear E.haddock, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. As long as you are healthy, you can be a candidate for BBL. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: BBL at 56 with previous Liposuction For body contouring I sometimes refer to the ideal candidate as someone who is “young tight and pudgy” Young people do better than older people because of the lack of skin elasticity that comes with age. I would say at age 50 patients start declining in their candidacy for these procedures. This is true for both Liposuction and fat transfer. there are lots of variables that have to be taken into consideration. Patients with skin laxity tend to be the worst candidates so age plus skin laxity a negative contributing factors. If you have fairly tight skin with an ideal fat distribution then a BBL may be appropriate. There are lots of things to take in the consideration and with that posting pictures we can’t make an assessment. I suggest scheduling multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons in your area. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
