CT scans use very low doses of radiation, so you should experience no negative effects on your upcoming BBL.
CT scan 2 weeks before BBL shouldn’t be a problem at all. I am also posting my answer for potentially CT scan after BBLDifferent surgeons have different protocols for post BBL recovery. The concern with sitting or laying on your back with BBL is decreased ‘fat graft take’. However, this is based on limited evidence and there is no Level 1 data regarding sitting/laying on your back and fat graft take after BBL. Therefore, ideally you should minimize laying on your back or sitting for first few weeks based on your surgeons recs but if you need to get a CT scan after 2 weeks - it should be fine.
Dear Rachelle R.,CT scan 2 week before BBL surgery should not be an issues. However, every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
CT scans expose you to a brief and relatively small amount of radiation but that is about it.Any concerns related to your upcoming surgery should be addressed to your plastic surgeon.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
