How to fix shrink wrapped skin post rhinoplasty?

Question

I had rhinoplasty in 2017 and directly after the surgery I thought my nose looked good. However, several years later, I noticed that the skin shrink wrapped very tightly and now my nose has a pinched appearance. Is there a way to correct this? Could I use fillers? I have heard that it could be dangerous to use fillers in the nasal folds because of the risk of tissue death. Also, is there a way to lower the tip this late in the game w/o surgery. Thank you for your help!

Fillers are typically disappointing in shaping the nasal tip after a prior rhinoplasty because the scar tissue makes it difficult (and riskier) to get the desired shape.  This far out from your primary rhinoplasty, revision surgery is typically the fix for unfavorable tip shape, and it would allow you to lower the nasal tip as well.

There are times after primary rhinoplasty where fillers work great for little indentations. In experienced hands, fillers are quite safe. Also, sometimes the cartilage is too weak in the nose and it causes pinching. This may have to be fixed with surgery. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist for consultation.

hello katie its not very possible to evaluate without photos but there's always a right way to 'correct' or 'improve' things for sure. fillers don't result good in 'pinched' noses, i'll assume its the tip that looks 'pinched' and that happens because the underlying cartilage does not support good the overlying skin and the shape and structure cannot be maintained. adding fillers to nasal creases/folds disadvantages and sometimes even increases collapses the nose and worsens breathing let alone the complication risks. your last question regarding downturning the tip , the answer is yes but with good surgery and material. on the long term -based on what i read - i'd assume you've potential to improve from revision surgery with possible rib grafting or ear cartilage grafting + camouflaging with rib pericondrium + fascia. these can be done in a single setting. in good hands hopefully cosmetic appearance + functionality of your nose can potentially improve for the good (not temporarily like the last time but permanently) hope my answer give insight , good luckdoctor be+ clinic
