Goretex reshaping to make bridge length shorter for rhinoplasty?

Hi docs! Is it possible for those pre carved goretex to be recarved to make it shorter in length? I have a pre carved gortex implant now that starts a little above the upper lash line. I would like the height to start at mid pupil to lower lash line instead as I had this preoperatively. If possible, do i have to wait for the 1 year post op mark to have this done?

I picture what you're talking about. If the top of the implant is too high, it makes the bridge look too strong, and it makes the entire nose look too long, from top to bottom. An implant that big is unusual; what did you have going on that require the implant.

While it seems like a straightforward task to remove and adjust the implant, you still have to wait at least many months, so the scar tissue from the operation has a chance to soften, or else the operation would be very difficult to accomplish. Also, do you *need* all of the dorsal height of the implant? Might your nose look better just taking the thing out? Do you know how thick it is, not in length from top to bottom or width from side to side, but how much it's augmenting your bridge? I'm asking because, if you are to have it removed and adjusted, you should identify *everything* that's not ideal about it, so you can get the maximun result from the revision.

For a silicone based nasal implant it is easier to do but with Gortex implant it can be very challenging. It can be done but it might be better to insert a new silicone implant with proper sizing. 
Both procedures can be done at the same time, you don't have to wait for one year unless there is a strong risk of infection.
