Hello. I had lower lid blepharoplasty 9 months ago. My lower outer corners still have slight swelling, even more so in humid climates. Not sure if the swelling will continue to go down which will smooth things out or the areas are fat. I am not happy with the way they currently look.

There are several fat pads under our eyes to cushion the eye. As we age these fat pads become more visible and may need to be removed.  Most likely they left the outer fat pad.  You will need research a  plastic surgeon in your area that specializes in lower blepharoplasty with removal of the fat to get and assessment.

Your result did not mature yet, you may expect further improvement. Swelling that is present in the lateral corner is most likely lateral fat compartment which was not resected sufficiently. If it persists after  12-15 months small procedure in local anesthesia may be needed. Good luck.

At nine months post op you are seeing your final results and significant changes are not expected.  I encourage you to meet with your surgeon to discuss your concerns.  If you are not satisfied with that meeting you can consider a second opinion to learn more about options to revise your results.

What I see in your pictures is residual prolapsed fat in the lateral fat pad. This fat pad is the most common area to see incomplete removal after surgery. I recommend you discuss your concerns with your surgeon if you haven't already spoken to them. They can do an in person exam and discuss your options if you aren't entirely happy with the result.

To make an accurate assessment regarding the outcome of any plastic surgery procedure we generally need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures.
If you don’t have before, and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward, the pictures they took.
 Balancing how much fat to remove during a lower eyelid plasty can be tricky.
If too much fat is removed, creates hollow Ness, which is extremely difficult to later, correct.
It’s far easier to have a revision and go back and take a little more fat out if indicated.
 Sometimes the addition of midface augmentation can complement lower eyelid, fat pad, removal nicely. 
Talk to your provider about your concerns regarding the outcome.
To get a proper second opinion consultation always come prepared to bring with you a complete set of proper before and after pictures and a copy of your operative report. These should all be available from your current providers office.
