Answer: Tummy Tuck 7 Months Ago - Possible Revision Needed Thank you for your question regarding if your crease will go away after your tummy tuck and wound opening. In my opinion, I do not think the crease will go away on its own. This needs surgical intervention. There is a crease on your right hip just above your scar. There is also a dog ear on the other side. It would have been possible to revise these under local anesthesia if it was just the crease and the dog ear. However if you want the larger scar revised where the wound had opened, I would suggest this be done under general anesthesia. All in all, I do not think these are going to go away with conservative treatment. You need surgical intervention at this time. I hope this helps answer your question regarding your crease after a tummy tuck and wound openings. I wish you the best of luck. I hope this answer helps. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Answer: Tummy tuck I'm sorry to hear of everything you've gone through. I do think losing weight will improve your results, however you will need to consider surgical intervention in order to improve the scar and resolve the dog ears.

Answer: Tummy tuck results Dear Friendly24797, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You might benefit from scar revision. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Complications after tummy tuck Wound separation can happen after this procedure. Active smokers haven substantially higher incidence of healing complications though it can happen to non-smokers as well. Obese patients have a higher incidence of wound healing problems. For the surgeon putting the correct amount of tension on the incision is a balancing act between getting impressive results and avoiding complications. Patients who have had wound healing problems sometimes benefit from having a scar revision. It’s generally better to let the body heal as much as possible before having second procedures. Skin incisions can take 12 to 18 months before the scar is mature or stops changing from the time of being healed. Your pictures show a significant amount of scar hypertrophy. This can sometimes be improved with the use of anti-scar products like silicon tape. Talk to your plastic surgeon about ways to improve the scar and possibility of having a revision or secondary surgery. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
