I had an African American rhinoplasty 6 months ago. My doctor used rib cartilage. I noticed my bridge is slightly deviated and the tip is very long from the side profile. Is this something that goes down with swelling as I have thick skin? Or am I due for a revision?

Answer: African American Rhinoplasty Good Morning! Thanks for the questions and great photos. I see what you're referring to. Rib grafting is excellent for creating projection and narrowness on the front view. This helps to "stretch" the thick skin creating more refinement. At 6 months, it's too early to consider a revision. I would wait toward 12 months before deciding. Swelling is still improving and things like taping nightly and steroids will help make improvements. If at that time you're unsatisfied, revisit with your surgeon (if you're comfortable) to discuss options. Hope this helps!
