What should I ask for when consulting for a rhinoplasty? Concerned about lack of nose bridge and short nose (photos)

I feel like I am lacking a bridge. My nose seems to be “short” and creating this snout-like affect. I’m not really sure what to ask for when consulting a surgeon so any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hello from Istanbul, Turkey! There appears to be a lack of definition at the tip of your nose. Augmenting the bridge using rib cartilage can help lengthen the nose and eliminate the snout-like effect you're talking about. Also, a little nostril reduction would create a much more proportional nose. In addition, in ethnic rhinoplasty and thick-skin rhinoplasty cases, skin care is very important and you should definitely learn about the steps that need to be taken both before and after surgery. Hello of course you can do your nose surgery also during the consultation you will talk with a doctor in detailed but you will be need to use cartilage

I agree with your appreciation on your low bridge and short nose. Both issues can be corrected with a rhinoplasty. Computer morphing performed by a surgeon experienced on ethnic rhinoplasties will help you visualize the changes you can get so you can make a right decision.

Digital computer imaging of your nose upon your facial features would be helpful in the education process to understand what can and cannot be accomplished with your nose upon your facial features. To build up the bridge is either going to require a large cartilage graft for a Synthetic implant. To narrow the nostrils is going to require an alar-plasty. Osteotomies placed in the nasal bones can accomplish  narrowing the bridge line and giving you more sidewall definition. You also have a hanging columella which can be addressed as well. Need to ask about open versus closed rhinoplasty. In our practice we perform only closed  rhinoplasty with no painful packing placed on the inside of the nose.
