After 4 c sections I was left with an overhang above my incision. I was not over weight but needed the skin/fat removed. I got amazing results in the shape of my stomach. The only downside is that my scars have become somewhat keloid like. I’m not worried about my hip to hip scar since I am able to cover that easily enough. My major concern is my belly button scarring is pretty terrible and will most likely need a revision to remove. Along with the already high cost of the surgery itself, I’m unsure when I can afford to do this. Amazing facility with very friendly staff. The doctors office and the surgery center are all in the same building. Which made it easy and comfortable. Dr, Streu was friendly. I flew from out of state specifically to come to the Waldorf center.
Dr. Shreu is amazing. I had some complication due to damage skin from radiation. She stick with me for 3 years, never gave up on trying to get my breast to a point that I could live with what I saw in the mirror. I owe her so much, although the outcome wasn't what I had thought it would be at the beginning of my journey, I feel she saved me from the huge what ifs. I cant recommend her enough.
Recently had a latissimus dorsi flap with Dr. Streu following my double mastectomy. Her professionalism and attention to detail is top notch. She’s Compasstionate and that comes across in the way she explains things and the tone in her voice. I will continue my reconstruction journey with her and have no doubt my outcome will be great in the future. Highly recommend!
I’ve wanted a breast lift since I was about 16 years old. All throughout my teenage years and adulthood (I’m 30 now) I was always self conscious about my heavy, droopy breasts. I always covered them. Could never wear the bathing suits or dresses I wanted to. Sports bras always had to be the high neck and uncomfortable ones. I always had spillage and bulges with every bra I wore. Finally, at 30 years old I decided enough was enough and I booked my lift. My only regret is not doing this sooner. As soon as I woke up I felt amazing, truly. I’m on day 5 and I’ve not needed any pain medication for 3 days. It’s completely manageable. I just can’t believe how easy this process has been. They look incredible. I’m so happy.
I consulted with Dr. Streu about liposuction on my outer thighs three years ago at which point she advised that my BMI was too high to safely pursue the elective procedure. After eating and exercise modifications led to the necessary weight loss, I returned for a second consultation. Over several appointments my initial interest in liposuction expanded to a tummy tuck and a breast lift with modest implants to replace fullness. As of this review, I am 4 days post surgery. A great experience so far, but still too soon to say "mission accomplished!" Updated on 12 Jan 2020: Five days post op I am feeling pretty good! I had taken a 5 mg oxycodone going to bed for the first three nights after my surgery, but since then have only needed acetaminophen and ibuprofen for pain management. The only areas experiencing pain from the surgery are the places on my hips where. the tummy tuck drains exit. No real pain in my breasts or thighs. I have had some muscle spasms in my back, perhaps from being in a hunched posture to avoid strain on my abdominal sutures. At this point, I have concluded that the tummy tuck was definitely worth doing. I still haven't been able to decide about the lipo and breast lift. Updated on 14 Jan 2020: It felt good to put on make- up and raal clothes for my office visit today. Incisions healing well. Tape and stiches removed along with one drain. Was told to return by Friday to have the remaining drain removed provided the output remains stable. Also received my compression garment. Progress!!! Updated on 28 Jan 2020: Everything is healing nicely! Dr. Streu is ordering a band to help my implants settle into the breast tissue as they are still sitting a bit high under my chest muscles. I was also advised to start massaging my breasts to keep the implants mobile and to massage my thighs to help with swelling from the liposuction. The nurse told me to order Newgel+ to use on my scars. My surgery package included 2 months of Embrace Scar Therapy for the breast lift and tummy tuck. Perhaps that will be discussed at my next appointment scheduled toward the end of February. Feeling great and feeling confident! :)
First off, I'm a female over 35. I'm a mother, and I was very, very fat. I had weight loss surgery and lost 170lbs, and kept it off. But I got to the point where my body didnt function the way I needed it to- I had rashes under by belly, breasts, and armpits. I had flaps of skin all over. I decided to pursue cosmetic surgery to remove the skin that made me so self conscious. After researching 16 surgeons, I selected Dr. Streu. From my initial consultation, in which she spent a long time asking me my story and explaining realistic expectations, to my most recent follow-up, her bedside manner is spectacular. She treats me like an equal, obviously choosing to practice patient fo used team medical care. As a health care provider myself, this is really important to me. After discussing my post surgery goals, I decided to pursue a two stage body lift (the second part I'm undecided on at the moment). I chose to undergo a full 360 abdominoplasty with diastasis repair, a brachioplasty, and a breast lift. We decided to extend the incision from my arm lift down through the armpit and connect it to an anchor breast lift. Because this is so much surgery, we decided to pursue a medial thigh lift at later date. I booked the date and got my bloodwork done 30 days on advance. Upon getting those results, she asked me to load the protein, to increase the quality of post op healing. I did, and gained some weight, but I'm glad. The morning of surgery at the Wilshire Surgery Center, the staff was so kind! Nurses and surgery staff were great. I'd had a long conversation with the anesthesia provider the night before. Dr. Streu came in and marked me all over, and I was ready. The meds hit me hard, but I woke up a few hours later and it was gone! I was sore, but able to tolerate the pain by keeping on schedule with meds and attempting to stay hydrated. I stayed the night in the surgery center, and again, amazing post-OP staff. I'm now 7 weeks out, and I am wearing a spanx style binder during the day or compression pants, and the medical binder to sleep. I have healed really well, just the tiniest amount of breakdown at the base of my anchor incision (which healed by week 6 with no interference). I've had a few sutures pop out, and I have some scar tissue build up near some lymph nodes that I'm working on. I'm still really swollen, and have some things I notice (one breast seems minutely larger than the other, though that was the same before and I can deal). Once the swelling goes away and the numbness fades, we will assess if anything needs nipping or tucking for revision. The cost was reasonable, the outcome at 7 weeks is blowing my mind- I feel like the person I've worked so hard to be. I would highly recommend Dr. Streu and her team!
BA results phenomenal. Caring and compassionate staff. Kind front desk team. Staff listens to you and guides you very appropriately in your personal enhancing journey. Thank you so much for such a wonderful and body positive experience.
Dr. Streu and her staff are second to none. I had a brachioplasty, tummy tuck, breast lift/augment, and upper body lift about 7 weeks ago. I am so very happy with the results. After losing over 100lbs, I felt uncomfortable with all the extra skin...I was fit but did not feel beautiful. Dr. Streu helped me set realistic expectations (“these surgeries are about trading scars”) and then exceeded those expectations.
The doctor was very profesional and knowledgeable. She took care of me very well, treated me with dignity and respect. I could not be happier and am very pleased with the results. Highly recommend this doctor.
So far my experience has been amazing. Day 2 and feeling pretty good! Not much pain., which I'm surprised about. The breasts look amazing! Dr Streu and team are so sweet. They were great about answering all my questions. I felt so comfortable with them.
Hello and thank you for posting photographs to accompany your question!Multiple consultations with board certified plastic surgeons are commonplace and allow for patients to find surgeons that they communicate well with and trust to help them through a physically transformational journey.Your photographs indicate that you have loose skin of your abdomen and a likely hernia, drooping breasts and loss of upper breast volume, and some descent of your backside skin. I would likely recommend a 2 stage approach for you.1) Abdominoplasty with rectus plication and likely hernia repair combine with a breast lift6 months later2) Lower body lift and breast augmentation (if desired) and any scar revisions or improvements needed from your initial operationI recommend seeking as many consultations as you need to feel comfortable with the surgeon and operative plan. Currently there are increasing numbers of highly qualified surgeons who have made themselves available for consultation virtually.Best Wishes!Dr Streu
Hi and thank you for posting your question and photos of your areas of concern!!Contouring the back side is often the next step after addressing the front side of your body. A variety of operations have been devised to smooth the back and lift the buttock areas. Also, results of such vary significantly depending upon your unique anatomy, fatty tissue thickness, skeletal structure and muscle bulk. In my practice I would likely offer you an upper body lift and lower body lift after optimizing a gluteal bulking regime. I suggest consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon who performs a high volume of body contouring procedures that can evaluate you and give individualized recommendations, counsel you regarding risks and outcome expectations.Best wishes to you!!Dr Streu
Hi and thanks for posting your question!Weight loss is not always a requirement for being a good surgical candidate for a tummy tuck (and many other operations.)In each in person consultation, I evaluate each patient individually and consider the whole picture:-Your medical health-Your physical characteristics and unique anatomical considerations (your body type, bone structure, fatty tissue thicknesses and skin quality to mention a few)-Your goals-Your lifestyle-Your expectationsOnly after considering the above do I give operative recommendations. Frequently I choose to make suggestions to help people obtain their best possible outcomes and sometimes that includes weight loss. I highly recommend speaking with a board certified plastic surgeon about your areas of concern and goals. Best wishes to you in obtaining your goals!Dr Streu
Hi and thanks for posting your question and photos! The gold standard treatment for undereye puffiness and crepey skin is lower lid blepharoplasty which is an operation designed to address the problem of bulging fat around the eyeball and skin that has lost elasticity. Unfortunately, there is not an equally effective or predictable way to provide results that restore youthful appearing eyes. I highly recommend consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who has expertise with facial rejuvenation procedures to discuss all operative considerations.Best wishes to you!Dr Streu
Hi and thanks for posting your question and photograph!Based on the photo you posted there does appear to be thicker tissue above the belly button than below it. There may be number of reasons for this:-unequal tissue thicknesses initially or progressively post op caused by weight gain since your initial operation-progressively loosening skinA secondary procedure, such as liposuction, may benefit you if you are at a stable weight similar to your initial preop weight. Coolsculpting is another consideration if you do not desire an additional operation.I highly recommend speaking with a board certified plastic surgeon to be examined and receive best recommendations for your desired outcome.Best Wishes!!Dr Streu
