Typically visible rippling is seen in patients who are thin and do not have a lot of tissue to cover the implants. The more breast tissue you have to begin, the less you can see the implant contour. Silicone implants are less likely to show rippling than saline, and placing implants under the muscle also helps minimize visible rippling. The larger the implant, and the thinner the tissues, the more likely you are to see rippling. It is unlikely you are doing anything to make it worse. 

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Rippling is typically due to thin tissue between the skin and implant, capsular contracture, implant-related issues, or a combination of the above. Options for treatment include changing the implant, changing the implant pocket, removing the implant capsule, or placing tissue between the implant and skin (e.g., alloderm, fat grafting). Of course, you will need an in-person consultation to evaluate you for this procedure. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.    Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon.  Good luck!
