I know to expect swelling and bruising after lip injections but I am wondering if I need to be concerned about the amount of bruising I am experiencing. This is the first time I have been injected with Juvederm Plus and I feel like every time I look in the mirror my lips look worse and worse. I iced on and off for hours after the injections. The pics are 12 hours after the procedure.

Answer: Filler Thank you for your question.Bruising and swelling are common side effects of fillers that can last up to two weeks, especially when injected into the lip. If your side effect persist past two weeks, follow-up with the provider who performed your injections. To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment.I hope this helps.
