Should I be concerned about amount of bruising after Juvederm Plus injections in lips? (Photo)

It is not uncommon to have swelling and bruising following ANY filler injection. Because the lips are highly vascular, swelling and bruising in the lips tends to be more common.  You lips have a very nice shape so far, and ultimately, you'll have a great result.  It's important to keep an open line of communication with your injecting physician.  

Juvederm can be a great way to improve the appearance of the lips and other areas in the face. Bruising and swelling is not uncommon, and can be concerning for the patient. This will resolve over a few days and you will enjoy a nice result.  If you are not happy with your results after the bruises settle then discuss your concerns with your injector. 

Thank you for your injection. The hyaluronic acid fillers such as juvaderm and restylane are hydophillic and draws in water causing swelling. Swelling after filler injection will start to subside in 3 days. You have bruising and swelling which is not uncommon after filler injection. DIscuss your concerns with your injector.  Best Wishes.

This is normal but if painful , speak to your physician.  I suggest waiting 2 weeks before determining the final outcome. Cannula injections help limit bruising and swelling. Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question.It is perfectly normal to have bruising and swelling after having injections. Applying ice to thje area will help reduce this, as will using Arnica Montana. If you have have concerns please contact your physician.Hope this helps

Thank you for your question.Bruising and swelling are common side effects of fillers that can last up to two weeks, especially when injected into the lip. If your side effect persist past two weeks, follow-up with the provider who performed your injections. To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment.I hope this helps.

It is not uncommon to get some bruising after juvederm to the lips.  It should resolve in 2-3 days.  Meanwhile make sure to keep the lips lubricated with chap stick/vaseline etc to prevent cracking.

This is not uncommon.  Lips are very vascular, and certainly can bruise, particularly if you were on any type of supplement or erb.  You might consider bromelain wlhich helps resolve bruises more quickly

It is not uncommon to have swelling and bruising after lip injections, and it should subside after a few days.  Supplements such as fish oil and aspirin used before injections can make bruising worse.  Best of luck!
