My hair extensions are micro rings (tiny metal rings fitted to my own hair) and I have just had them done. I am having surgery in 3 days and seeing different things about having to remove them. Would BBL surgery require me to remove these?

Answer: Hair extensions and surgery Thanks so much for reaching out. A standard BBL should not require these coming out. Unless you’re having any other surgery that would require the use of electrocautery during the procedure. There is a theoretical risk of the electricity used with that device being directed to the metal and giving you a burn at that location. However BBL typically is not a surgery where electrocautery is used. I hope this helps :-)

Answer: Great question This is a very good question and the first time is has come up for me. I don't think there is any need to remove your hair extensions prior to a BBL. Your surgeon will likely have a head wrap on your so your hair is out of the way during the procedure. You will probably want to be careful styling your hair is a manner than makes it easy to cover for the surgery.Other than that I don't think there would be a reason to have them removed. As always, though check with your surgeon!I hope this helps!
