Cannot feel or see some hairs 1 month after FUE procedure.

Question

Hi all. I had FUE procedure done a month ago. I’m scab free just have a pinkish head at the mo which is clearing day by day. I started the expected shed after 2weeks. My question however is. Some areas I’ve shed in, I can see the hair under the skin but other areas where I know follicules were implanted via post op pictures. I cannot see or feel the follicule at all. Will the areas with Just skin still have hair growth or should I be worried Thank you in advance for you responses.

It is normal to shed transplanted hairs weeks after surgery.  The new hairs may take 6 to 12 months to grow.

Thank you for the post. Being only 1 month post procedure, it is too early to see any hair growth at this time. Give yourself atleast 3 1/2 months to 4 1/2 months to see any newly transplanted hairs to actually growing. 6 months on average you should be around 50% growth, and 100% yield can take up to 14 to 16 months. I tell my patients that it takes an average of 3 months for the transplanted hairs to start growing after hair restoration surgery in my office.  At one month, I would not expect to see any new hairs; in fact, some of the transplanted hairs may still be shedding at this point. Once the hairs start growing, you should see about 60% growth by 6 months. If you add finasteride, and/or minoxidil, this may help speed up the growing process.

At 1 month, some people have no evidence of a hair transplant in the recipient area. Everyone is different but I always tell people not to worry as once it is done well, the results are predictable.

At 1 month post FUE you will not be able to see any growth from the transplanted grafts. Only at about month 3 will you start to notice any growth.
