Does my breast augmentation incision look infected?

I had my b/a a month ago now (27th April - 27th May) and I noticed my incision had some puss/liquid coming out 9 days ago, it wasn’t much. I put allevyn dressing on and remove in the shower. I don’t have pain, I noticed because I had some discomfort. This is the most puss I’ve seen on my dressing, 3 days ago the puss stopped, 2 days ago a little come, then today it’s the most it’s been in the 9 days. I’ve attached a photo of the dressing after 24hrs of use and my incision.

It can be difficult to assess you without doing a physical examination. It may be best to see your Plastic Surgeon to be assessed.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment or at least a photo, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Thank you for your question.It is impossible to say without seeing a picture. You may have a "stitch or suture" abscess. This is a fairly localized problem which can be resolved once the suture is removed. Please discuss your concerns with your Plastic Surgeon who can help you with your concerns. All The Best !

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  It appears that a portion of your incision is having difficulty with underlying sutures.  This is usually self-limited but would be wise to have seen by your surgeon to perhaps remove any stitch that has poked itself through the skin.  Hope this helps.

It is not uncommon to have a little drainage from your breast augmentation incision.  It is important to keep the area clean and dry.  If the drainage is increasing, has a foul odor, or is accompanied by other symptoms it is best to contact your surgeon for an evaluation.

It appears to be a suture that has not dissolved more than an infection.  Have your surgeon see you, he or she may want to remove the portion of the stitch that has not yet dissolved.

Thanks for your question and for providing the photos.Although I think, most likely, this is a superficial process causes by a dissolving suture which your body is in the process of spitting out, there is a chance that this is more serious - an infected collection around the implant, with the infected fluid making its way out through the wound. You need to see your PS ASAP. Breast implant infection is serious and can make you unwell. If the implant is infected, it may need to be removed.Make an appointment to see your PS today.I hope this helps.
