Is it safe to have fat injected into or under your muscle?

It has been shown that fat injection into muscle can leads to intravascular injection which can lead to severe complications. I inject into several layers of the subcutanous space, but never the muscle. I highly recommend you use a surgeon who avoid the muscular injection site. Good luck.

Some fat is injected above the muscle to help in sculpting and appearance. The key is transferring fat to well vascularized tissue in smaller amounts.  I typically place the fat above the muscle or superficially into the muscle. There is a theoretical increased risk for fat emboli with deeper injections.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Samira81.    Recent studies have documented significant increase in serious complications when fat is injected into or under the muscle during BBL.  Run, don't walk from any surgeon who claims it is safe to inject fat into the muscle!  Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.  Good luck!
