The bridge of your nose is like an "A-Frame" roof top, and removing the bump may lead to widening, also called an "open roof". A month postoperative may be too soon to evaluate your nasal width. Certainly discuss your concerns with your rhinoplasty specialist to see what might be best for you moving forward. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
It is a little hard to tell from the photos, but swelling is definitely normal at this point in the recovery process. Be sure to discuss your questions with your surgeon and if the wideness doesn't settle down to your liking, then it is always possible to seek another opinion with a rhinoplasty specialist.
Osteotomies (controlled cuts or fractures of the nasal bones) are routinely performed after hump removal to close the "open roof" created when a hump is removed. Imagine your nose is a house with a triangular roof. If a portion of the roof is removed, you will now have a square or flat roof. The "walls" of the nose need to be brought in to recreate the normal anatomy and narrow the nose. Flat spots or a poorly defined nose can result without this critical step.
You are still very swollen and you have to give it time to heal. Be patient with the results,. Good luck.
Hello, Two weeks after rhinoplasty is too early to determine results. Swelling after surgery goes away intermittently, irregularly and asymmetrically. Among other things, this means that it goes away faster on one side. As such, the nose commonly appears crooked during recovery...
I think if a morph were drawn removing the nose at the pencil marks, you'd see that it's scary. Don't forget about elevating your tip, though. You have a bit of a droopy tip, and if the radix is lowered and the tip isn't raised, that wouldn't look great. The models' noses that you like are very ...
Thanks for your question. The good news is that deviated noses and asymmetric nostrils can be improved. Of course, there is no substitute for an exam, but based on your photos, I believe your goal is reasonable. A rhinoplasty would address the deviated nose and also bring some...
The gauze pad placed under the nose is generally there to soak up any blood and mucous that is dripping from the nose. Most rhinoplasty surgeons will place a nasal splint and tape on the nose to help protect and support the nose during the healing period, however, this is separate from the...
It's still too soon to tell what your final results will be. You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the...
Nonsurgical nose jobs using dermal fillers can do an excellent job of masking the appearance of a distracting dorsal hump. When your nose is straighter, it often also appears shorter. However, though adding fillers to your bridge would make your nose more symmetrical, it would also look wider,...
