Great question. In our office, we perform the Obagi peel and other peels to help exfoliate and resurface the skin. Our range of chemical peels extends from melasma peels like the Melapeel that have minimal downtime to a Blue Peel which requires one week of downtime. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
The VI Peel and theObagi Peels are both classified as medium depth peels and as such, should beperformed by people skilled in the use of peeling agents, under the auspices ofa board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Great clinical results can be achieved withboth peels – and physicians will like one over the other, although clinicallythey both should give fairly similar results.
Thanks for the question. They are both medium depth peels. The VI peel is almost painless, and requires no skin pre conditioning that is required by Obagi Blue Peel and other TCA peels when used on skin types 4 to 6. In addition, the VI Peel has very few of the complications and hazards that usually come with those peels.Hope this helps.

In our office, we typically ask patients to use a ceramide cream after a chemical peel to help improve the skin's moisture barrier function. Our choice is the Elevase cream. In addition, light chemical peels afterwards and Melarase for discoloration can help. Best, DR....
Thanks for the question. It's likely that area has not peeled yet. Make sure to keep using your post peel protectant and don't force the skin off. It will eventually come off and your skin should appear much smoother and softer. Best wishes
Thank you for yor question! Swelling after Vi Peel is not normal and common. You may be developing some allergic reaction to the aftercare kit products. I would suggest you to make a follow up appointment with your provider and stop applying products from the kit. Keep using sunscreen if ...
