What would you recommend for VI Peel aftercare? Can I wear La Roche Posay tinted sunscreen throughout this week?

Hello, I just had the VI Peel done last night at around 6 pm. I left it on until I woke up in the middle of the night (4 am) and washed my face and rubbed the towelette all over. I went back to bed but tingling woke me up in a little over an hour. Instead of washing my face, I applied the hydrocortisone cream. I plan on leaving this on and then applying the SPF before I go to work. Is this acceptable post care treatment? Also, may I wear La Roche Posay tinted sunscreen throughout this week? TY!

In our office, we typically ask patients to use a ceramide cream after a chemical peel to help improve the skin's moisture barrier function. Our choice is the Elevase cream. In addition, light chemical peels afterwards and Melarase for discoloration can help. Best, DR....

Thanks for the question. It's likely that area has not peeled yet. Make sure to keep using your post peel protectant and don't force the skin off. It will eventually come off and your skin should appear much smoother and softer. Best wishes

Thank you for yor question! Swelling after Vi Peel is not normal and common. You may be developing some allergic reaction to the aftercare kit products. I would suggest you to make a follow up appointment with your provider and stop applying products from the kit. Keep using sunscreen if ...
