Degreasing works well but you would have to be careful not to sensitize your skin. Best to have the skin specialist degrease your skin. In our office, we have patients use the Melapads twice daily to help exfoliate and provide daily peeling to rejuvenate prior to a chemical peel. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
Hello. I would not choose acetone to degrease skin as it compromises the skin and it will take at lease 72 hours for your skin to recover from the acetone. You need your skin to function properly (recover) when you are causing trauma to it. By using acetone, you skin cells do not have the capabilities to function properly therefore, they cannot help the skin while it is under stress (chemical peel). Best of Luck to you!
The recover after a Vi Peel varies from patient to patient. Your top layer of the skin is expected to peel off followed by redness, itchy and dry skin. I would suggest you to follow after care instructions given by your provider and hang in there. Your skin will be improved and beautiful in no time. Good luck!
Thanks for your question. Yes. In my office my esthetician preps her chemical peels with acetone. It should be done just once right after cleansing the skin and before applying the peel. Chemical peels should always be applied by a professional in case of adverse reactions. Best wishes.
