I just had a Vi peel 5 days ago, should I start using obagi nu derm today?

The girl at the office said I should use steps 1-3 of the starter kit but leave out 4-5 for a week or 2. I noticed that step 3 was a skin lightener. Is this o.k. to use right now? Should I just use the cleanser and toner. Is obagi a gentle cleanser? Is it to harsh to use right now? I would like to get started on the starter kit but don't want to aggravate the new skin.

Thanks for the question. It's likely that area has not peeled yet. Make sure to keep using your post peel protectant and don't force the skin off. It will eventually come off and your skin should appear much smoother and softer. Best wishes

Thank you for yor question! Swelling after Vi Peel is not normal and common. You may be developing some allergic reaction to the aftercare kit products. I would suggest you to make a follow up appointment with your provider and stop applying products from the kit. Keep using sunscreen if ...

Stronger chemical peels should be performed by a knowledgeable practitioner. I would opt for an expert to do the peel and begin application of Melarase creams before and after treatment to help with discoloration. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles, CA
