I've previously had volumna in the cheek area that dissipated rather quickly in the side cheek area. Juvaderm in mouth folds. I've been advised to get juvaderm in the jaw line to lift the neck. Would a lift be insignificant at this point? I'm getting tired of all the fillers.

Answer: Time for a Lift? Fillers are great for areas that need additional volume, but they aren't going to get rid of laxity, and aren't going to lift your "turkey neck". The only person who might say that is someone that can't do a lift and has no other tools to help you. Depending on your age and exam, you might be a candidate for a minilift. It's performed in the office using local anesthetic and just involves some incisions around the ears. Downtime is minimal, especially in patients with longer hair since they can use their hair to cover the sutures. Andrew Campbell, M.D. Facial Rejuvenation Specialist Quintessa Aesthetic Centers

Answer: Facelift versus fillers Fillers are a great option for adding volume, defining contour and slight lifting. However, the area that you seem to be concerned with is the skin laxity in your neck. Sometimes treatments like Ultherapy or laser can help tighten the skin, but based on your pictures and description, it seems like a lower facelift / neck lift would give you the best and most long-term solution. Additionally, while there is more upfront cost for surgical procedures, the longevity and less need for fillers usually balances out as positive for the patient financially. It would be best for you to schedule a consultation to review all of our options. In our office, we offer the full range of non-invasive treatments and surgical procedures and can work with you to formulate the best plan of action. We look forward to seeing you in the office.
