Right breast larger than my left. I feel as though both have dropped already. My PS said I had very slight asymmetry which we only noticed when she did the actual measurement. I didn't think it would be THIS noticeable. Is R breast is still swollen & the left breast is actual result? Maybe L breast still hasn't fully dropped and it will eventually look like the right breast? When I wear the sports bra and a fitted shirt the difference is noticeable :( Could starting birth control effect healing?
Answer: 6 Weeks Post Breast Augmentation - Are My Breasts Asymmetric & Have They Both Dropped & Fluffed? I do see the asymmetry you are referring to. It seems that your left breast is riding higher and off to the side more. Did your plastic surgeon use asymmetric implants or she use the same size on both sides? Intraoperatively, plastic surgeons often try to balance the two breasts by going larger on the small size and smaller on the larger side with saline sizers prior to the actual silicone implantation. It may be that the options for asymmetric breast implants showed no better result, and therefore your surgeon used the same size implants as a reasonable alternative. It is also possible that an in person exam would demonstrate that the volumes of the two implants are the same but the positioning is slightly different because of the left breast implant is farther from the midline than the right breast implant which matches the nipple position and also gave you a great cleavage.Of course, it is also possible that the left implant has not dropped and fluffed yet. At this point, I suggest an open and honest discussion with your plastic surgeon, and it may turn out that she did the best possible implant choices for the two breasts based on anatomic and implant manufacturer variations.Remember, the two breasts are always sisters and never twins.

Answer: Asymmetry after augmentation Six weeks after augmentation there is still some residual swelling and the implants have not completly settled. I have my patients massage during this time to help facilitate this. I usually do not make final conclusions about position and symmetry until three monts post op, and wait till then to make corrections. Breasts are not typically totally symmetrical before augmentation, and asymmetries can sometimes be made worse by augmentation.

Answer: Asymmetry after breast augmentation Based on your preoperative photographs, it appears that you do have a mild volume as well as shape asymmetry. There is an asymmetry in the fold position as well as the asymmetry of your volume. Typically swelling should be equivalent on both sides and should be resolved at about the same rate. In some instances it may be appropriate to use different sized implants to correct these asymmetries. Other options down the road might include fat grafting to the smaller breast. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Answer: Breast asymmetry Thanks for posting your question. Based on the photo it appears that one breast is slightly larger, similar to the preoperative appearance. It is not uncommon for one side to be a tiny bit larger but otherwise the shape looks normal.

Answer: Asymmetry Hello, its normal to have some asymmetry before and after breast augmentation. Things are still healing and settling so you still have to wait on the final result. I would discuss this with you PS as other healing factors can effect the long term appearance to your breast. Good Luck.

Answer: Patience and not overdoing it While it seems like 6 weeks is a long way out from surgery, we typically don't say much about symmetry for the first 6 months. You'll consider to get more symmetry as swelling resolves and the implants settle into position. Be careful about doing too much with your right arm (most patients are right handed and it's easy to overdo it in the early postop period). Good luck.
