Hello, I am 34, had original silicone 500cc under the muscle in 2012. Had reconstruction with same size due to leakage in 2014. I want these implants out of me. Soonest I can have it done is July or August. I am scheduled for an embryo transfer for October. Is that enough time to heal where it won’t effect the embryo attaching? Also can I breastfeed after removal and capsulectomy?
Answer: Breast Implants Removal I appreciate your concerns and removal of your implants in July or August should have no effect on impending fertilization procedure planned in October. However several bits of false information needs to be corrected first. While some form of capsule is formed after all breast augmentation procedures, if the capsule is not overly thickened, capsulectomy is not required during removal of the implants. The capsule will go away on its own once the implants have been removed. There is false recommendations out on the Internet that capsulectomy must always be performed when the implants are removed. The only time that complete capsulectomy is needed after implant removal is documented diagnosis of BIA-ALCL(The road very rare form pause breast lymphoma caused by textured silicone implants). There should be no issues regarding breast-feeding after removal of implants, however if aggressive capsulectomy is performed, milk ducts can possibly be injured, hindering breast-feeding. Again, often times capsulectomy is NOT needed when implants are removed! Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon in our area to explore the best options for you. Good luck.

Answer: Time between procedures Two months should be adequate time for you to completely heal from your procedure and continue with your IVF. It is still best to consult with your OB/Gyn though. Breastfeeding can sometimes be impacted by breast surgery. I hope the link to the video on this topic will be helpful.

Answer: Removal Your fertility doctor can say for sure, but two months should be plenty of time between the two procedures. Not all women can breastfeed, even with no implants. Also, not all babies can breastfeed. Removal should not increase the risk but the capsulectomy might some.

Answer: How long after breast implant removal and capsulectomy (no loft) should I wait before IVF embryo transfer? Hello @kparker4 thank you for your question. Depending on the surgical technique used by the professional who performs your Explanation, is the amount of the recovery time. It is important that in the consultation of the surgical plan for your breast implant removal the surgeon clarifies how much time he considers necessary to complete recovery of the inflammatory process and the healing process. It is also necessary to take into account what medications you are going to take, if you are going to take them and how much they can cause inflammation in the breasts. Best wishes!
