Neuropathic Pain after breast implant removal? (Photo)

Question

I had 250cc breast implants removed plus an areola reduction in 2020. Scars are horrendous but that aside. I have Neuropathic Pain - burning sensation of skin on abdomen, upper body & scalp. It started weeks after surgery, noticeably on scalp 1st then entire upper body. The burning has been there almost 24/7, every day. My question: is it at all possible this nerve pain is caused by the implant removal surgery or awful scarring?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

No, your implants nor scars have nothing to do with scalp pain or abdominal pain. The nerves of your breast do not affect your scalp or abdomen.  Please discuss this with your medical doctor and be checked for food allergies.

You can visit with your surgeon for scar revision to help improve your results.  The neuropathic pain is unlikely related to your surgery.  I encourage you to speak with your PCP or a specialist for an evaluation.
