Can I still use my compression garment on it? Neosporin is enough to help it? (Photo)

Hello , I am 3weeks post op. I removed my drain 2 weeks ago. My skin is very irritated and I am using neosporin 1X day .I don't have any pus or fever . Can I still using my compression garment on it ??? Help please . Ps: my surgeon is out of state .

Thank you for your question and photograph.  Increased redness, swelling or pain should be evaluated.  My recommendation is not to use ointment and/or use, or discontinue to use, your compression garment without instructions from your surgeon or the doctor who is on call while he/she is away.  Best of luck.

The area looks very irritated.  I would recommend discussing the situation with your surgeon to determine the best way to proceed.  If you are unable to be evaluated in person since your surgeon is out of state perhaps there is a colleague you could see in the area.  In any case you could send photos to your surgeon and have a conversation on the phone.
