I started as a deflated 34b. Last year, I had a Mod 300cc saline implant. Unfortunately, the resulting size is too large for my lifestyle. Is there a 200cc saline implant that is wide enough for my 12.5 bdw? Silicone is not an option here. Thank you.
Answer: Low profile saline implants? Thank you for your question. You are more limited with implant choices if you stick to saline. Allergan's 68LP implants in a 175-195 size are 10.4cm wide at the fuller volume, a bit narrow for your 12.5 width. If you bump up to the next 200-220 size the implant width increases, but the implant would be decidedly underfilled at 200cc. One option might be to go with the smaller implant and augment the width of the implant with some fat grafting along the cleavage to enhance the look - we call this a "hybrid breast augmentation". This could be your best bet to get the look you want while keeping your saline implant. Hope this helps!

Answer: Saline implants Hello. Thank you for your question.I’m not aware of any saline implants that meet those volume/dimension measurements. As an example, a Natrelle low profile (the profile with the widest base diameter per unit volume) saline implant has a base diameter of 11cm. However, that does not mean that you cannot downsize to a 200 cc implant. The procedure may require modification of the existing pocket dimensions to reduce the base width. I would recommend consulting a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, who has experience with revisional breast augmentation procedures. Good luck!

Answer: Implant size Dear JANE357, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
