I used the Swiss Endopeel injections (carbolic acid) a couple of years ago for medical face lifting and honestly they were the best injections I ever tried..! But I was afraid to use them again since I was concerned about the safety since I got to know that they are not FDA approved but after that I knew that even the widely used Botox is a non FDA approved injection for wrinkles but it's relatively safe.. I need to know if these endopeel injections are safe to use... Thanx in advance :)

Answer: Endopeal in the U.S. I'm not aware of any FDA approval for Endopeal at this time. However, Botox is great for treating facial wrinkles.

Answer: Off label use vs. FDA approved Hi Zainab78. You are mixing 2 different terms in your question. One thing is FDA approve treatments. If a medication is FDA approved it means that it has been tested by the FDA for it's efficacy and safety. Only FDA approved medications should be used in the USA. Another thing is to use an FDA approved medication in an off label application. Off label us of a medication is still represent some risk to the physician, but is more accepted since the product has some safety track record by the FDA. Many of the areas were Botox is injected are off label because it has not authorized or tested by the FDA, but that does not mean that they are prohibited to be done.I hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz
