Thank you for your question.Typically the preoperative appointment is an opportunity to review the surgical plan, review the pre and postoperative instructions, answer your questions, and sign the relevant paperwork. Sometimes there are protocols for preoperative checks, including labs, depending on the practice. If labs are drawn, this is usually done at a local lab, but sometimes can be done at the plastic surgery clinic depending on the capabilities of the clinic.I would contact your doctors office and ask about what to expect, as they know their protocols best.Best of luck!
Hello. In our office - a pre-op meeting is held with every patient to review the treatment (surgical) plan, confirm implants, and review patient's questions
Preparing your procedure begins in consultation with your surgeon, discussing the specifics of which are of disgust for you.You should come to the consultation prepared to discuss your medical history including previous surgeries, past and present medical conditions and current medications. It is important that you provide complete information. If you smoke, it is recommended to stop smoking 4 weeks before surgery.Sleep or not to take anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin and ibuprofen, vitamin E, ginko biloba 4 weeks prior to your procedure. These drugs promoted bleeding.Stopping oral contraceptives two weeks before surgery.
Thank you for your question.Every surgeon's office differs with what occurs at the pre op visit. I recommend speaking with your surgeon's office to get specific information. In my practice, the patient goes through all consent forms, all medical / surgical history is reviewed, prescriptions are given to the patient, discussion regarding what medications can / cannot be taken prior to surgery, surgical arrival time and specific directions to the surgery center are given as well as post operative instructions. We also take the patient's pre operative photos. The patient and I review the procedure in detail once again / all questions are answered and goal photos are reviewed as well. The pre op appointment is very important and in general, lasts 1-2 hours (depending on the patient and the questions they may have).I hope this and the link below is helpful as you continue to do your research.Best wishes.
During a pre op appointment, the goals of surgery are discussed, any questions are answered, and prescriptions are given for pain control. Implant size is verified. With regards to blood work, this is usually not done in the plastic surgery office but rather at a local lab or other medical facility.
At this appointment, we typically review your goals and the plan for durgery. We discuss sizes again and give you another opportunity to try on sizers. The nurses go over an informed consent and explain your post-op instructions. We also take vitals signs, do a relevant exam (heart, lungs) and make sure you are all ready for surgery. Blood tests are rarely needed, and only when indicated by your health history.
Thank you for the question. In pre op meetings, you're just going to be evaluated on your best options regarding breast augmentation. Choice of implants, reviewing medical history and the like will e done that day. Best of luck. Dr. Michael Omidi. An in-person exam with a board-certified plasticsurgeon is the best way to assess your needs and provide true medical advice.
This varies by office. I usually like to meet the patients to discuss their goals, assess their physical exam, and then try on implant sizers to get an idea of the implant size that they like. We then finalize the size at a second, more comprehensive visit prior to the surgery.
