Dear s...nThanks for the question. Although you do want to protect your scalp from the sun after surgery, avoid wearing hats for the first couple weeks. You can get back into the routine of getting a haircut about three weeks after your surgery. If you dye your hair, you can do so again at the end of the first month. I wish you all the best.
I recommend to cute hair 15-20 days after hair a transplant with scissors only. To shave with machine, not before 6 months on the donor area and transplant area.
You can pick and choose your answers here or ask this question to your doctor. We sometimes cut our patients hair the next day (if they request it). Some doctors say wait several weeks.Seeking personal medical or post surgical questions on the Internet will likely lead to conflicting answers.
Hello! Thank you for your question. I suggest my patients not to have any hair cut until they are 3 weeks post op. 3 weeks after the surgery they can cut their hair, but only with scissors. For machine its better to wait at least 15-20 weeks for the donor area, but transplanted area better not to shave yet, until the final results.
It is common in my practice following a fairly large follicular unit extraction transplantation that I wait approximately two weeks. The reason being is the donor site is now filled in substantially and you patients often like to get a slight trim to even out the posterior scalp at the donor site to match the upper posterior scalp above the donor site and trim it nicely into the recipient area where the crown and top of the head have the recipient follicles. The first few haircuts are very important and should be by someone experienced in this area so it's almost as if it's a "no touch" technique haircut to the recipient site. Very little damage can occur at the donor site and that is just blending it in so it looks uniform without any bad untoward effects. It is usually not a problem at all.
With scissors 10 days after and the clippers 3 months after the surgical procedure. Be careful because it is very important to follow these instructions.
We have to make sure that every thing is healed properly before a client get s a hair cut. We usually see them for a follow up after two weeks and if they have healed in the recipient as well as the donor area, then they may get a hair cut. So depending on their healing process, any where between two to four weeks.
providing the person who is doing the cutting, a hair cut after the hair transplant can be done within a few days. For patients that had FUE, we often offer a hair cut the very next day in our office to balance our the short style with any long hair that is present. We try to make the person's short cut in the back match the sides and top and one of our staff is a licensed hair stylist and we love working with our patients to make them feel most comfortable. Many people feel uncomfortable going to a barber after a hair transplant, so that is why we offer that service in-house.
If you have crusting, the hair can be damaged up to 9 days post-op. If there are no crusts, the grafts are pretty set at 3 days. Washing hair frequently in the first few days reduces crusting. SO for your purposes, if you have crusts, wait 9 days to clipper your hair. If not crusting happened (because you prevented it with frequent washing post-operatively) you can cut it as early as 3 days. For future reference, here is the histological study which demonstrates when grafts are "grafted."
If you are not experiencing improvements using medications, you may want to consider a hair transplant procedure. These surgeries involve the transfer of healthy follicles into bald and thinning regions, rather than trying to address chemical pathways. However it will be important to choose the...
As long as you didn't sneeze while straining, you don't have to worry about the grafts shooting out of your head.In all seriousness, use common sense or read the many other answers below. You'll be ok.
At only 1 day post-op, it's quite understandable that you're scrutinizing your grafts and expressing concern about your results. However, the ultimate outcome of a hair transplant procedure does take a while to develop. It's important to give your grafts time to fully settle into your scalp....
