If you are not experiencing improvements using medications, you may want to consider a hair transplant procedure. You need to actually see a doctor and obtain a diagnosis and a treatment plan.You need to also understand there is no "cure" for genetic male pattern balding.There are medical and surgical options but you will continue to lose your hair in a genetic pattern.

Have you considered finasteride?  How about low-level laser light therapy?   What about synthetic options in the form of fibers and various hairpieces?   Depending upon some other factors including your age, hair transplant may or may not be the best option you .John Frank MDNew YorkOhio

I think that you have tried one very useful modality that I also recommend in my practice however, if you have had no results over the last six months, then it's time to re-evaluate the situation. If we are to continue using the medical management of hair loss then at this time I  would suggest that you use a combination of PRP and low laser light therapy. It's quite possible that it will give you the results that you're looking for and I would give this another 4 to 6 months, and if again you are not seeing an improvement which is unlikely, especially if you follow the protocol that I recommend that would be quite surprised however you may be the rare individual that ultimately needs to just bite the bullet and go for a minimally invasive hair transplant procedure and i'm encouraged that you were obtain an excellent long-lasting results. At this stage your best treatment option is to continue using rogaine and perhaps add propecia as well. These two FDA approved medications are usually successful in slowing down the hair loss and sometimes growing some hair in the crown area.  

The 3 Vertex balding with that degree of crown loss is most effectively treated with the drug finasteride, 1 mg per day. Recently, the cost of the drug has dropped and you can now purchase this medication with a prescription at Cosco for $27 for a 3 months supply, down from $80/month for the brand named Propecia.  This should be your first line for treatment and the wait a year to see if the balding is gone. In this way you can avoid a surgery all together and not only save a lot of money, but avoid what may be an unnecessary surgery. It's worth a try.
