My neck wrinkles up when turning my head. Fine when head isn't turned. Laser or neck lift? (Photo)

These are dynamic lines that you are showing - wrinkles that appear upon muscle movement. This is completely natural, and there is no good way of eliminating them. Neither a neck lift nor any kind of skin resurfacing procedure will help.

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

This is normal when you turn your head. You have a few options. Try Botox to soften your platysmal bands and chemical peels to improve the quality of your skin and, one hopes, restore a bit of elasticity. Kybella or neck liposuction may be good options for defining the chin and jawline. I hope this helps.

Based on these photos and short of in person evaluation it is difficult to say whether you need any form of neck tightening. In person evaluation is recommended. Good luck.

Hi Jamie34141,This is normal.  Everyone needs extra skin in order to turn the head or move the head up and down.Do not seek treatment for this.  That goes for energy-based or surgical treatments.  Someone will take your money and leave you the same or worse off.Just a suggestion:  Don't waste any more time, energy, or attention on this.Best wishes,Dr. Jay

It's completely normal to get wrinkles when turning your head. Everyone in the world does. There is no way to eliminate wrinkles when turning or folding any part of the body. Try bending your wrist or twisting your torso - you'll notice that wrinkles appear. It's natural. What a neck lift or something like Ultherapy can help with is wrinkles or sagging that are there all the time, not as a result of a natural body movement. From your photos, you do not appear to have excessive sagging skin, although you may want to visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in-person consultation to be reassured. You said that your skin looks fine when your head is straight, though, which leads me to believe you likely do not need any cosmetic work done. 

I would recommend Kybella or the K-lift patented by me. Kybella dissolves fat cells under the chin and helps to eliminate a double chin. The K-lift, which was patented by me, is a nonsurgical neck lift procedure that also eliminates under the chin fat and will make you appear younger. Surgery is not required and there are other noninvasive options that can help your concern.

this is normal, it happens to everyone especially if you are thin. Surgery will make it worse, laser will not help.
