I am a 34C and i feel like i have quite a bit of natural breast tissue. Will implants over the muscle look/feel natural on me with the natural tissue covering it? The last pic is one of my wish pics
Answer: Implants over or under. You can do over if, as a rule of thumb, you have at least 2 centimeters, almost an inch, of pinch thickness in the upper breast over the pectoralis. Less than this and you get problems like unnatural exaggerated roundness, shell visibility and palpability. Some plastic surgeons try to get an additional layer by lifting up the pectoralis fascia and making the implant pocket "sub-fascial". The nice thing about over the muscle is that you don't get any movement of the implant when you activate your pectoralis muscle. When implants are under (partially subpectoral, not fully) the appearance may change, with flattening or movement of the breast, not usually a problem, but would be nice not to have any motion. If you have a lot of breast tissue you don't need such a large implant to get the enhancement in the wish pic, and that makes it even more likely you will look and feel natural.

Answer: How natural will implants look/feel on me? Your photos suggest you have generous breast tissue that should provide good coverage with implants above the muscle. There are benefits to going under the muscle and these should be discussed with your surgeon before making a decision on implant placement.

Answer: Breast implants Dear Princessyolanda5, I almost always place implants submuscular. It lowers the rate of capsular contracture significantly. In addition, it looks much more natural because the muscle provides covering over the implant so its not as round on the top. I've also noticed the implants drop less over time when they are protected under the muscle. Answer: Implant feel The more natural tissue you have covering the implant, the more you will feel that versus implant. If feel is important to you you may wish to select gel implants. Patients report that the silicone gel implants have a feel that is more like natural breast tissue, versus saline implants which tend to feel more like a bag of water. I've included a video on implant selection that I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Lift not implants In your photographs, your breasts appear large and implants will not be any benefit to you. They will result in further descent of your breasts. You may want to consider a breast lift. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
