What are my options for fix my botched lip injections? (Photos)

Question

So I received lip injections in March. It was my first time and I received 1 syringe in my top lip. I love the way it looks on making me have bigger lips and I would go bigger but I have two huge lumps in my top lip. On the right and left and it makes me look like I have no lips in the corner and it looks so bad when I smile! it didn’t hurt at all when he did them does that mean he didn’t go deep enough? What are my my options in removing the lumps? :/

Hi @Dontknow101.  I recommend seeking treatments from expert injectors who have the skill and experience to precisely inject fillers into treatment areas and avoid risks and complications. Hyaluronic acid facial filler products that were previously injected into an improper tissue plane can be dissolved by hyaluronidase injections. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

People often wonder what if anything can be done when you've received lip injections, and it doesn't look right.  When you have a hyaluronic acid injection (like Juvederm or Restylane), it can be dissolved with a product called Vitrase.  If you don't want to go through more injections, the body will eventually absorb the hyaluronic acid.  Be Well!

The most common mistake is the ratio of the upper lip size. It should be 1 to 1.6 with the lower lip. Also the majority of the filler needs to be under the nose not so much laterally. This is easily address with an injectable enzyme to remove filler. Every injector should have this available

If you had an HA filler (Volbella, Restylane Silk, Juvederm) it can be reversed with hyaluronidase. Any high volume injector should have it readily available in their office. Otherwise, it should reverse over time (4-6 months). If it was silicone, then it is permanent and will need to be surgically removed. Hope this helps.

You need a little dissolving enzyme injected in the lumps near the corners of your upper lip, and more filler toward the corner where it is deficient. I'm sure your plastic surgeon could do it, or if he/she can't, find someone who can.

The best thing to do is have the lumps dissolved using hyaluronidase (Hylenex or Vitrase). It's always important to see an experienced injector for best results. Good luck.

Your lips are nice and full but I would recommend that you have the lump dissolved with Vitrase.  It is a simple procedure and then you will have the lips that you like without the lump.  Please consult an expert in lip injections for the best cosmetic results.  Best, Dr. Green

i would r commend going back to the injector that you originally got your fillers from and have them either dissolve the product that was injected or get their opinion.

Hi, depending on the type of filler used, they can be dissolved by injection. It may take more than one treatment to dissolve the areas you are not happy with, but results should be visible within the first day.
The other option depends on how long ago the lip fillers were placed, as they may be moulded/massaged into shape, without needing to dissolve the product.
