However, to fix an injury from the dog bite, excision and repair of the lower lip injury may result in the quickest and best cosmetic result as the injury appears deep. Dog bite injuries to the lower lip may result in problems with drooling. This is especially common when injury to the underlying muscle of the lip occurs. This is common with dog bites.

That lower lip injury needs to be treated by excision of the defect with lower lip reconstruction of the vermilion edges.
