Can my Radix Be Raised?

The radix is the area where the nose meets the forehead, and it can be permanently raised with a cartilage graft during rhinoplasty.

The answer is yes - your radix should be able to be raised using one of several options. Likely the best option is to use a cartilage graft placed into the radix region. Obviously this would require a surgical procedure. An alternative would be to use a non-surgical approach with something like an injectable filler. I would have an open conversation with your rhinoplasty surgeon to discuss what option is best for you.

The radix can be raised. Sometimes we use a filler first to let you see how it will look. fillers may last for months -- then if you like it , a permanent cartelage graft can be put in.

There are multiple options to raise the radix area of the nose (nasofrontal junction).  Some of these options require surgical approach, such as cartilage graft or Alloderm graft while some can be performed in the office, for example filler injection. The surgical options tend to be long lasting or permanent, while fillers will require reinjections (unless you go with a permanent filler, like silicon). The first order of business is to decide whether radix augmentation is something you need, and then concentrate on a particular approach.
