Hi Akosijhay06,Realistic expectations are very important with any facial aesthetic procedure, especially with rhinoplasty. You can have augmentation rhinoplasty, but your best bet to be "able to have a nose that looks like an arab" will be wearing a burka. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
If you want a stronger nose with a higher dorsum and tip this can be done. The alar base can be modified as well.Find a board certified plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of rhinoplasties and rhinoplasty revisions each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
I'm not sure what an Arab nose looks like. I've done rhinoplasty surgery for over 35 years and have always individualized every procedure, including many Arabs. Please be specific describing what changes you want so I can make appropriate recommendations.
An Arab or Middle eastern nose characteritically has a higher, more defined nasal dorsum than what you have with a varying degree of a dorsal hump. There are specific characteristics of the shape, position and size of the nostrils and alae. In order to attempt giving you such a nose you have to undergo an augmentation rhinoplasty. In my practice, I would opt for using some of your rib cartilage as a graft. This would allow us to give you more dorsal volume and the desired shape, tip support and definition. Modifying your nasal ala is much more difficult and not always successful. Hope this helps.
Nasal congestion is common after a septoplasty. The inside of the nose swells, and many surgeons advise patients not to blow their nose in order to minimize the risk of a nosebleed. The congestion often improves in 5-7 days, but sometimes can last longer.
Treating pain can be unpredictable. It may be that scar tissue or changes in the nerves following your rhinoplasty are contributing to pain. Sensitivity to cold can also be an issue. However, it is often very difficult to develop a predictable treatment plan in the absence of identifying the...
Hello Straxville,It would benefit you to find a surgeon who is both a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon and a Board-Certified ENT. These are the unique qualifications that bring many patients to my door. A chin implant combined with reduction of your columellar show would help you...
Skin changes after rhinoplasty are not uncommon. Sometimes it it due to skin irritation from Steri strips or nasal splints applied to the nose. This is likely temporary.Seventeen days postop is very early and significant swelling can still be present, particularly in the nasal tip....
It's difficult to give you exact advice without seeing you in person. It could be inflammatory from the constant pressure of touching it, or could be a skin or soft tissue lesion that needs a biopsy. You should make an appointment to see a plastic surgeon or ent physician. Good Luck
I would need to know why you believe the skin needs to be thickened. It is much more common for the opposite problem to exist, that is, skin on the nasal tip that is too thick.using a fascia graft on the tip could make the tip look fat, and I can't imagine the situation where it would be...
