Congestion after Submucous Resection SMR Surgery for a mild deviated septum

I had Submucous Resection SMR Surgery for my mild deviated septum 5 days ago but I am really congested. I wake up in the middle of the night out of breathe. My doctor gave me Xylo-COMOD and Ocean Spray to use as much as I want per day for two weeks which is when he said the congestion will get better. I am using the spray every 4-6 hours but worried that I might be addicted to it after two weeks and never breathe without using it. Is this safe to do and when will the congestion get better?

Skin changes after rhinoplasty are not uncommon.  Sometimes it it due to skin irritation from Steri strips or nasal splints applied to the nose.  This is likely temporary.Seventeen days postop is very early and significant swelling can still be present, particularly in the nasal tip....
