All of the above will probably work.  Wounds like this are not that uncommon and usually heal within a few weeks.  Most importantly keep the area clean, wash your hands and wear gloves when dressing the wound. Best of luck,Dr. Hyans  

Thanks for your question Bunky1002.  I understand your confusion with multiple health care providers coming at you with different treatments.  The truth is, most superficial wounds like this will heal in an otherwise healthy person regardless of what you do.  The most important things are to keep it clean and follow your operating surgeon's wound care instructions.  Best of luck!

Thank you for your question. Having wounds like this is not uncommon and and my surgeons have different ways of managing a problem like this. If you ask 5 different plastic surgeons, they will give you five different answers. 

For problems like this, it is better to not have too many cooks in the kitchen so to speak. I would advise you to follow the instructions of your operating surgeon. 

most of these heal with local wound care.
