My surgical tape is coming off 9 days after tummy tuck, should I be concerned? (Photo)

I'm 9 days PO from a full tummy tuck. The binder continues to ride up and I've noticed that some of the surgical tape is coming off because of it. Should I be concerned about it?

Please see your surgeon to discuss this issue. The tape may be replaced but it would be best for your surgeon to assess it first.

Nothing to worry about. Let your surgeon know. I tell my patient to remove the tape completely if this happens.

I would recommend you remove the tape it can irritate your skin, just cover it with gauze  and continue to follow up with your PS.

Steri strips tend to loosen on their own.  Their job is to give support to the new incisions during the early phases of healing.  I encourage you to speak with your surgeon on how she/he would like to address the loosened tape.  You may be able to just clip off the loose portions and leave the rest in place.

nothing to worry about, it’s common to have some of the steri strips fall off at this point.  Let your surgeon know and they may want to replace with more steri strips or scar tape

Hello and thank you for your question and photo.   It is okay if it's coming off, I have my patient's keep it on until it falls off .  You can replace it w medical paper tape if it makes you feel better.
