I was accidentally kicked in stomach, could I have messed up my mesh and tummy tuck? 3.5 wks post o.

Question

I am three and a half weeks post op and I was given permission to get in the pool. My 3 year old swam to me and I gently turned him around to swim back to the side. When he turned he accidentally kicked me. It felt moderately hard but no pain. Just felt weird. I got out immediately and put compression garment back on. Any thoughts on whether I may have done damage?

Thanks for the question. From what you described it seems unlikely that you did any damage. Typically you would have some signs such as pain, bruising or swelling. Of course, if there’s any concern make an appointment to see your plastic surgeon.  it was good thinking on your part to put on your compression garment just in case.

Thank you for your question. It would be unlikely that your suffered any damage to your repair in this setting. If you had persistent pain, swelling or bruising after this I would see your surgeon as soon as possible. Likely the area may feel more firm and have decreased sensation as a result of the procedure and may take several months to return to normal. Best of luck in your continued recovery..
